The contents of Chanji’s Diaries are wide ranging. Many of the diaries were kept in inexpensive little notebooks and pads of paper, whatever was available to Chanji, particularly in times when he was travelling with Baba and resources were few. Some of the diaries are extensive and others consist of only a few pages or with little written on each page. Where the diary is long enough to make the pdf large it has been divided into sections for ease of download. In time these web pages will be remounted in the form of a more user-friendly interface, which will allow easy location of just the particular diary pages that you might be interested in along with transcriptions and more extensive helpful search tools. Currently we are able to provide this basic archival presentation, just the diaries as they were kept all these many years in the very same trunks and cupboards that Baba was referring to in the opening page of the Archive Section. Below is Chanji Diary 62. (The numbering of the diaries was done long back and has no particular meaning.) It is essentially a collection of single document sheets which had been divided into 8 separate groupings. Some are actual diary pages from the late 1920s and the rest are loose notes and appear to be mainly from that period, although not all are dated.
