Meher Baba lovingly established the Avatar Meher Baba Trust in 1959. Through this Trust, Baba describes His wishes for the unfolding of His legacy of love. Meher Baba said, “I have only Love to give and all I want is love.”

Since 1969 the realization of the Trust objectives has been made possible through donations given out of love. All donations, small or large, given from the heart are most welcome. Donors are from many countries and from many walks of life.

Trust objectives include facilities and amenities for visitors to Meher Baba’s home and the general public “irrespective of caste, creed, race, religion, sex or nationality.” Outlined in the Trust Deed as the objects of this purpose are educational and medical facilities, libraries, accommodation for visitors, and living quarters for those who choose to live a life of “selfless service … in accordance with the universal teachings given and the high ideals set up by Avatar Meher Baba.”

Visitors and the surrounding community enjoy the benefits of the Trust’s development efforts. Children in the local Meher School have an interactive computer facility, a science laboratory, and an auditorium for meetings and plays. The Meher Health Centre gives free medical care to over 40,000 patients a year. Meher Hospital hosts cataract eye surgery camps, restoring sight to elderly rural people. On Meherabad Hill and in Meherazad, thousands of young planted trees are thriving through forestation projects that still continue. Meher Pilgrim Retreat provides overnight accommodation and meals to 200 visitors. A large archive building, Manzil-e-Meher, is bustling with ongoing projects of historic significance. The archive building at Meherazad is also preserving and storing precious items associated with Meher Baba’s life.

To facilitate all Trust projects, new infrastructure including roads, electrical, water and sewage treatment facilities have been put in place. Recent projects include excavating underpasses under the highway and railroad tracks, establishing some solar electrical power, and constructing large water storage reservoirs. In December 2019, a Memorial Tower was inaugurated on the site that Meher Baba designated in 1944. For more information on ongoing and future Trust plans please read the “Master Plan.

All of this has been made possible by the generous contributions of Meher Baba lovers from around the world. Though Meher Baba alone does his own work, those who love Him have the opportunity to participate in this legacy first by living lives that please Him; and if able to contribute financially, His lovers can also donate to support the objects of His Trust, helping Baba’s wishes for the Trust to flourish.
