می ده به جام جم که صباح بهار شد
آمد که بلبل از گل خشبوی یار شد
مستانه وار میروم اندر سرای دوست
هوشیار سر ز مستی وی پر خمار شد
میسوزم از جدایی یک دم قرار نیست
عاشق شود هر آن که دمش بی قرار شد
پیدا شدم که خون جگر نوش جان کنم
شکر خدا که رحمت پروردگار شد
فانیست این چمن گل جاوید عشق چین
بلبل به گلستان که هزاران هزار شد
در عشق صنم بی دل و بی جان عمر رفت
جان و دلم به خاک ره وی نثار شد
رند از جهان امید زر و نام کی کند
عاشق به چشم زاهد ما خار و زار شد
بی خان و مان هر که خوش از عشق زار ماند
می خانه خراب خشایش دیار شد
از مهر خوبتر شندی ای مهربان زار
چون لذّت جهان بر تو ظاهر مار شد
Give me wine in Jamshid’s cup, for it’s a spring morning.
The nightingale has come from the beloved’s fragrant rose.
I wander intoxicated in the beloved’s house,
My soberness hungover from his drunkenness.
I burn from separation; there’s not a moment of peace.
Whoever breathes with passion becomes his lover.
I’ve found that my heart’s blood is my soul’s nourishment.
Thank God for the mercy of the Preserver!
This garden is ephemeral; pick love’s eternal rose;
The nightingale in the garden has become a million.
In the love of that idol my life has lost heart and soul.
My heart and soul are scattered in the dust of his path.
How can a rogue hope for fame and wealth from the world?
In the eyes of the ascetic, the lover is worthless.
Whoever cries out happily from love has no money.
The ruined tavern is the joy of the country.
You hear complaint more easily than mercy, Mihraban,
Since the world’s pleasure is outwardly a snake to you.

This is the seventh poem in Khorshed’s songbook, and the seventh in the Persian series of Persian poems written by young Merwan with the takhallus or pen-name “Mihrabān”. As with the entire series, this is the only source available and very little is known about it. It bears the number (7), has a pencil check mark on the upper left and ends with a double separation line.
