From His early years, first as Merwan Sheriar Irani, and later as Meher Baba, the Avatar composed and arranged words into poems, rhyming aphorisms, prayers and songs. This often spontaneous and whimsical act of creation is the focus of The Beloved’s Lane section of the Trust’s Publications. Works are presented here under the form of a series that is starting small but which will be updated and expanded regularly. All of the compositions presented are based on original source material, which is made available as well. Transcriptions, transliterations and translations will be published, along with footnotes and endnotes, tables, and sometimes essays focusing on a particular aspect of the subject. “Tavern-Talk” corresponding essays in the series are also available here. Works are accessible through sections artificially divided according to main periods of time, and later, through different manuscripts once they will be presented in full.
